Hey Victory, My name is Bruce Roetman (aka “Pin-N-it” in the VMC) and I am the proud owner of a 2006 Kingpin Deluxe.
The “Blue Dragon” was a gift to me from my “significant other” of 14 years, Colleen Pierce. She bought the bike from Full Throttle Motor Sports in Lansing, Michigan, around the 15th of April 2007. It was a gift in celebration of my recent purchase of the company where I had been employed for 15 years: Wm. Morris & Son, Inc., is a commercial and industrial construction company which I now can call mine.
Because of business ownership, I think that she knew I would need therapy, which could be avoided by simply riding a Victory. We took an MFS course together in the summer of 2006 and bought a 650 V-Star starter bike.
ChiMP (Colleen) is a very bright gal and she new that the Yammie would not satisfy me for very long. She also knows all too well that I am very loyal to Polaris – owning five Polaris snowmobiles, two Polaris watercraft and a Polaris quad (every one of them bullet proof) – and that a Victory would be my bike of choice.
Fast forward 10,000 miles to November 2007. I have now seen more of the state of Michigan in the last 6 months than I have seen in my 40-some years living here. I am directing a play for our community theatre and one of the characters just happens to be a motorcyclist. So… I took a few “artistic liberties,” removed the “H” word from the script and score, added the “V” word in its place.
And bam! “Blue” has a supporting role in Little Shop of Horrors. Yes, she was ridden onto the stage and I even added her own solo to the show, which she sang in perfect pitch every night, much to the chagrin of the pit band seated directly behind her.
As for ChiMP, well, she also starred in the show. I blame the designers at Victory because both of her V-Stars are now up for sale. You see, they figured out that it wasn’t just the height of the bike that was the problem for the 5’5”ers of the world, it was also girth. She is in love with the new Vegas Low. I guess it’s time that I returned the favor, thanks for that guys.
Thanks Victory for making incredible machines.
– Pin (Bruce Roetman)
P.S. Attached are some photos of the play and the bike’s playbill from the play’s program. Colleen is in yellow. I am seated on the floor in front of the bike with the Victory baseball hat in the group photo.
