Tom Jenkins – aka “The Man of Many Hats” – had not ridden a motorcycle in decades. As he considered which bike he would choose to resume his riding career, one bike made itself the obvious choice.
“After not riding anything for 40 years and paying for college for two children, it was time for Dad to reward himself,” said Jenkins, a speaker, trainer and consultant from Peachtree City, Georgia.
“I had considered various other bikes but when I received the Victory Vision demo DVD in June 2007, I knew that was the bike for me! The fact that its styling did not look like anything else on the road was a BIG factor for me.
“I happened to visit Black Jack Motorcycles in Fairburn, Georgia, the day a black Street version of the Victory Vision arrived. After sitting on it and finding it to be a very comfortable fit – I am 6', 5" tall and not easy to fit – I ordered the Midnight Cherry Premium Victory Vision Tour on September 26, 2007.
“Just before Christmas it arrived and it has proved to be even better that I could have imagined.”
You can bet Jenkins will ride as much as time allows, but that will be a challenge because he is a busy, busy man. He calls himself “The Man of Many Hats,” and with good reason.
“In addition to the motivational speaking that I do, I: “• Coach other speakers “• Teach public speaking and leadership to high school students (part time) “• Am a treasurer for one organization (it used to be three organizations) “• Am an active member of four civic organizations “• Operate a couple of other businesses “• And, with my wife, am starting a career doing voice-over work.”
Amazingly, it sounds like he used to be even busier, if that’s possible.
“I used to groom, train and show horses, spent several summers as an auto assembly line worker, worked on an excursion boat in the Detroit River, spent 10 1/2 years working for a major bank in Detroit and another 17 1/2 years as a computer systems consultant. Recently I have been a real estate investor, developer and landlord with multiple properties.”
Okay, that’s plenty for one person. That about covers it, right? Nope. There’s more.
“Every now and then I act in stage plays at a local community theater, play golf and ride the new Victory Vision,” Jenkins said. “I need to figure out how to carry the golf bag on the bike!
“I think you can now see why the moniker fits and why I have used that for my personal branding as a speaker.”
Indeed, that’s a lot of action and a lot of hats. But you can count on him finding time for riding his new Victory Vision.
