Good things happen to good Victory Riders, and the day they chose for their epic ride was ideal for the adventure. According to JJ Warner of the TCVR:

“Twin City Victory Riders had been planning this for a couple months – an All Victory Motorcycle SS 1000 (SaddleSore) – and June 23, 2007, was the day.

“We all met at the Rogers, Minnesota, TA Plaza (Travel Center of America truck stop) in the wee morning hours. We had 10 guys and two gals in all. At 5:15 a.m. we pulled out of the parking lot.

We headed west on Interstate 94 to our first stop in Alexandria, Minnesota, then continued on to Fargo, North Dakota, to Summit, South Dakota, and Crooks, South Dakota.”

As the group circled back east, they stopped at the birthplace of their bikes.

“Yes, we even stopped at Spirit Lake, Iowa, and the Victory plant, then rode on to Albert Lea, Minnesota, Dakota, Minnesota, Tomah, Wisconson, and Eau Claire, Wisconson.

“As the group was going through the Twin Cities there was some big fireworks display going off. It was like they were celebrating for us since we were almost to the end of our journey.

“The last stop was Albertville, Minnesota, at 10:45 p.m. with all 12 of us.

“So, 17 1/2 hours and five states later, my odometer read 1,056 miles on it, but everyone had a little different reading on their bike.”

Everything was right on: The bikes, the weather and especially the group of riding companions.

“We couldn't have picked a better day than that day,” JJ said. “The weather was perfect. We did run into a little fog in the morning but it didn't last long. We even had shirts made up for everyone who made it.

“A big thank you to Greg and Lee for setting up everything for this event and to the Twin Cities Victory Riders. They are a great group to ride with.”
