RIDERS’ MONTH CONTINUES INTO NOVEMBER: Michael ‘Mags’ Shaw – Riding His Kingpin Year-Round in Idaho

Thought I’d share a couple shots of my 2005 Victory Kingpin that I purchased from American Destiny Motorcycles in Boise, Idaho, [in 2005]. Louise and Wiley are superb dealers.

Although I’ve had a few trips to the coast from Boise, most of my riding is in the immediate area since this is my “primary” transportation—year-round. Only if it’s snowy or icy do I keep it in the garage.

My longest trip [until the spring of ‘07] was in May of 2006. I rode from Boise to Troutdale, Oregon, for my niece’s wedding reception. The next day, instead of heading directly back to Boise, I ran up to Tacoma, Washington, to visit my aunt who was 88 years young.

The shots of the bike are on the trip home to Boise over Chinook Pass on Mount Rainer. I logged 407 miles the first day to Troutdale, and another 694 coming home via Tacoma the following day.

I’ve since added a highway bar and foot pegs, which makes it just a tad more comfortable.
