Well, all right, so maybe that “award” mentioned in the headline is arbitrary and doesn’t really exist. But there’s no doubt Robin put herself among the leading contenders with her creativity and generosity.
Mike – a 2002 Touring Cruiser Deluxe rider – tells what happened in January:
“My wife decided to give me my Valentine’s Day present a little early,” he said. “Here are the pictures of us taking delivery of our Midnight Cherry ‘08 Victory Vision Tour Premium.
“WOW! She is beautiful – and the bike looks good too!”
Robin found a willing accomplice at the local dealership to help her pull off the surprise gifting. She got to display her acting skills, too.
“My wife Robin and Bob Leeke from Rocky Mountain Cycle Plaza completed the surprise by hiding the key in a small box of chocolates,” Mike said. “She claimed to buy the chocolates for me but then ate most of them before I got home from work.
“With a tear in her eye she compelled me to eat the last piece. You can image the look on my face when I found the key inside.”
They picked the bike up in January and took advantage of the dry roads and mild temperatures in Colorado Springs one day.
“We managed to get about two hours of riding in [that day], the temperature was perfect for heated seats and grips,” Mike said. “The wind was very strong right out of the west and here in Colorado that is a downhill Chinook, but the Victory Vision sliced right through it.
“Thanks for hitting this one right out of the park!”
Congrats, Mike. And Robin: We salute you! (Do you have any sisters?)
