We asked Victory Rider Wayne Sarosi, a long-distance rider who lives in Melbourne, Florida, to suggest some day trips for Victory Riders who attend Daytona Bike Week. If you’re in Daytona and want to get out of town and see other aspects of Florida life for a day, check out Wayne’s trip ideas. They are all getting posted in the News section of the VRA Page.
This trip suggests a ride to the Silver Springs/Ocala area northwest of Daytona Beach.
Trip Three is an easy one with easy directions.
Head north on I-95 or go up US 1 until you get to State Route 40.
Head west. After about 20 miles heading west, you’ll reach the city of Volusia, where you begin riding through the Ocala National Forest.
After about 25 miles – just before you reach the city of Ocala – you’ll reach Silver Springs. Silver Springs bills itself as nature’s amusement park. You can check to see what the current admission prices are online. It’s an all-day event. Lots of animals, river cruises, wildlife exhibits, rides, botanical gardens, shopping and dining, glass bottom boats and the springs themselves.
There are many great restaurants in Ocala. To learn more about Ocala, visit the Ocala/Marion County vacation Planning & Tourism Guide website.
To go back to Daytona, just backtrack on the same route.
