We asked Victory Rider Wayne Sarosi, a long-distance rider who lives in Melbourne, Florida, to suggest some day trips for Victory Riders who attend Daytona Bike Week. This first trip suggests some places to eat and check out tourism activities about an hour south of Daytona Beach.
From Daytona, travel south on U.S. 1 until you get to SR 46 in Mims, Florida.
Just south of SR 46 and U.S. 1, about ¾ of a mile on the left, is a great place for Southern-style BBQ called Louis’s, and right next door is the Catfish Cabin. Good eats in both places.
If you are looking for seafood, then travel further south on U.S. 1 and turn right on Garden Street. Go about 1.5 miles and on the left is Dixie Crossroads. The food is great.
Further south on U.S. 1 is the NASA Causeway (Columbia Boulevard), which leads you to the Kennedy Space Center. Head east and visit the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Tours are expensive, but interesting.

If speed is what you want to get somewhere, take I-95 to SR 528 and head to Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral. There are a lot of places to see there and fun things to do.
A great place to eat lunch is Cazoni’s Pizza across from the Enterprise Car Rental in Cape Canaveral. Please watch your speed on RT528/A1A. The “man” is on the prowl during Bike Week.
All these trips can be done in one day and have you back in Daytona for the evening.
