2. RIDE TO THE SPACE CENTER On Thursday, March 5, meet at Volusia Motorsports (1701 St. Rd. 44, New Smyrna Beach), for a group ride to the Kennedy Space Center, led by the Hurricane Alley Victory Riders. Kickstands up at 11 a.m., but come to the dealership early for pre-ride coffee. For those who are interested post-Space Center, riders will come back to Pub 44 (by the dealership) for wind-down session. Volusia Motorsports 1701 S.R.44, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 Phone: 386-428-2212
3. TAKE A VICTORY DEMO RIDE Victory Demo Rides will be offered from their familiar location: In the parking lot of Daytona Int’l. Speedway. Follow the signs pointing you toward the airport. Where Richard Petty Blvd. intersects Midway Blvd., turn into the Speedway parking lot. Park your bike where directed and head to the Victory Demo Ride Site. Victory Demo Rides Friday, February 27 through Friday, March 6 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily
4. GET YOUR FREE VICTORY DAYTONA BIKE WEEK LAPEL PIN Stop by the Victory Demo Ride Site or the VRA Party and pick up your free lapel pin. Show your Victory key to a Victory staff member at the Demo Site to get a pin.
5. TAKE A VICTORY RIDE Daytona Beach is an urban area where traffic can pile up during Bike Week. So head out of town on some back roads and absorb some local flavor. Victory Vision Rider Wayne Sarosi of Melbourne, Florida, has provided several day trip itineraries for Victory Riders itching to ride when they get to Daytona. Wayne’s trip recommendations, complete with good dining stops, will be posted February 14 in the News Index on the VRA Page. Here is the FIRST RIDE.
6. VISIT A VICTORY DEALER There are Victory dealers in every direction from Daytona Beach. Head south and they’re as close as New Smyrna, followed by Melbourne and Ft. Pierce and beyond. Head west and you’ll find dealers starting in the Orlando area. Head north and you’ll find dealers starting in Jacksonville. Build a day’s ride around a stop at a Victory dealership. Buy a T-shirt, get advice on the best local spots to grab a bite or cool off. We’ve posted the complete list of Victory dealers in Florida on the VRA Page.
7. VISIT MAIN STREET AT NIGHT This is a must-see attraction during Bike Week. Traffic is dense at night, both on the street and on the sidewalk, and it’s a gas. The bikes are fantastic and the people watching is even better. You’ve got to ride down Main Street at least once, then find a parking spot and take a stroll.
8. GO TO THE RACES A large fleet of Victory Riders annually heads south of Daytona to Orlando Speed World, where on the Wednesday night of Bike Week (March 4) street machines are allowed to run on the drag strip. Look for a large number of Victory Riders to make runs this year – including several on Victory Visions! Victory is not a drag race sponsor or sanctioning body. In other words, it’s just for fun – and bragging rights – and everybody’s on their own.
Directions: From the Daytona Beach area, take I-95 South to Hwy. 50, Exit 215, at Titusville. Take Hwy. 50 west to the race track. It’s about 20 miles from the interstate to the race track, which is located just west of where State Road 520 meets Hwy. 50.
9. RIDE YOUR VICTORY ON THE BEACH We can imagine you’re cringing (and the Pure Victory Polishes gang is smiling!) just thinking of riding your precious Victory on the sand. But where else can you do this? Weather permitting, you can pay a few bucks and drive right on the beach. Drive slow to minimize sand ingestion. Stop and shoot some photos. You just got your Christmas card photo for ’09! Live it up. Experience the beach, then go spray down your bike. You’ll be glad you did.

10. RIDE A1A Experience what Spring Break attendees and original NASCAR fans experienced. (The original Daytona races were run on the beach and on A1A.) Head east toward the ocean and catch A1A (Atlantic Avenue) at Main Street or farther north. Head south on A1A and enjoy the cruising crowd, oceanfront high-rises, souvenir stores and beach access that are all pure Daytona. In Ponce Inlet, near the southern tip of land, visit the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse. It’s Florida’s tallest lighthouse, and it’s still in operation.
