Dear Bruce,
A couple weeks ago you donated a motorcycle for an auction benefiting the
Bob Woodruff Family Fund. For you, that was a win-win deal: You helped a great group raise funds for its very worthy cause, and you got rid of your 1991 Harley Davidson Fat Boy with 9,198 miles on it.
We’re having some fun with that second part, but hey, keep reading. You’ll see that donating that bike has opened a door of opportunity for you.
WIN: Helping the Woodruff Fund Bob Woodruff is an ABC News reporter and anchorman. In 2006 he was severely injured by a roadside bomb blast while embedded with U.S. troops in Iraq. Bob suffered traumatic brain injury (TBI) and has fought hard to recover as fully as possible. During his recovery, he and his wife Lee learned about the staggering number of servicemen and women who suffer from TBI and/or from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
They founded the Bob Woodruff Family Fund, which is described thusly on the organization’s website:
“The Bob Woodruff Family Fund assists service members injured while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Special emphasis is placed on the ‘hidden signature injuries’ of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan – traumatic brain injury (TBI) and combat stress injuries including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The Fund works with private industry and government to develop public awareness and excellence in research, education, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, support and resources for the injured and their families as they reintegrate to duty or civilian life.” At the “Stand Up for Heroes” benefit held recently in New York City, you – Bruce – performed a few songs and rode your Harley on-stage. It was eventually auction for over $80,000 that will benefit the Bob Woodruff Family Fund.
That’s a major win, Boss.
Bob Woodruff Family Fund. WIN: Let’s Get You on a Victory Motorcycle That’s right. Your Harley is out of your garage.
Now it’s time for you to ride The New American Motorcycle.
That’s right, let’s meet up and go for a ride on some Victorys. You name the time and place, we’ll show up with the bikes.
That woman who will no doubt hover around you offering to help you into your chaps? That would be my wife. She’s a big fan. Waddayagonnado?
You’ll love the Victorys. They’ve got great style and outstanding power. You’ve got to ride the Victory Vision. It might not be your cup of tea, but it’s a must-ride bike.
The Hammer S seems perfect for you. Muscle car styling, performance-minded. We’ll get one with a Stage 1 Kit and you’ll have a ball. You might ride it right into that newly vacant spot in your garage.
You name the Victory model and we’ll have it there. If you want to autograph a Victory you ride and let us take a photo, we’ll auction off the bike to raise funds for the Bob Woodruff Family Fund and for the
Victory Junction Gang Camp. You would love the camp and all the joy it brings to kids with chronic illnesses. You sing about “Reason to Believe,” and that’s exactly what the camp experience gives the kids who visit.
So,
drop us a line with some contact info. We’ll make plans and we’ll ride.
You ask, “Is there anybody alive out there?” Oh, yeah, and they’re riding Victory Motorcycles.
