It was a short day for Daytona Bike Week on Tuesday as a major storm rolled across Florida and arrived in Daytona Beach in the late-afternoon. Strong winds and heavy, heavy rain drove most riders to seek shelter from the storm.
Before heading under cover, though, hundreds of bikers checked out the Victory display on Main Street – and enjoyed the wild and wooly scene on Main Street. Thousands of bikes roll down Main Street every day and night during Bike Week, many of them head-turning customs, some of them simply bizarre [see: Dragon Bike].
Among the bikers who stopped by the Victory display to check out the Victory Vision was a woman who is a Gold Wing rider but who was very taken by the new Victory touring bike. She planned to head to the Victory Demo Ride site on Wednesday to take a Victory Vision ride.
Wednesday night is drag race night for several Victory Riders who will head down to the strip outside Orlando to see what sorts of ETs they can post – and in pursuit of bragging rights.
We’ll provide a report from the strip in a couple days, once we get the tire shreds out of our eyes and regain our hearing.
P.S. Good luck to the Roseau [MN] High School boy’s hockey team, which begins defense of its Class AA Minnesota State High School Tournament Championship on Thursday.
