The Victory Blog: Victory Vision Rear Wheel Polishing Special Edition
A blanket or pad ensures there will be no damage to the edge of the fairing. Be gentle when rolling the bike past the tip-over protection points to this position.

The rear wheel of your Victory creates a dilemma.

• Do you detail it meticulously so you can sleep easy, knowing your bike is immaculate?

• Or, do you say “nobody can really see it because of the sprocket, brake disk, exhaust, etc.,” and leave it less than spotless?

For Victory Vision owners, there’s an easy answer: Lay the bike over and clean that rear wheel.

The advice comes from the recognized experts of Victory detailing, the Pure Victory Polishes team. Their advice for detailing the rear end of a Victory Vision is as follows:

How do the professionals polish the wheels on a Tenth Anniversary Victory Vision?

First you sedate it, then gently lay it completely over on its side. Be sure to put a blanket down for comfort and mirror/fairing protection.

Then polish away.

Roll over and do the same on the other side.

Easy, peasy. Take your time and make sure you’ve got the blanket or pad in place and you won’t make a mark on your bodywork at the outer edges of the fairing.

How about detailing the rear wheels of the Victory cruisers? For some of us on the Victory Blog staff, we would rather ride than polish, so we admit to letting the rear wheel get dirty.

Real dirty.

A Kingpin Tour with saddlebags making the rear wheel even less visible? Forget it. We don’t clean it.

How do you clean your cruiser’s real wheel without the use of a shop lift? Any tips that will make the job appealing enough for all of us who neglect the rear wheel to clean it?

Emotional Detailers
Be sure to check out the photos of the detailers cleaning the wheels on the 10th Anniversary bike.

Larry Meservy, Jr., who’s working on the bike’s front wheel, is proof that top-notch detailers really do eat, drink and sleep detailing. When Jr. needs a snack, he doesn’t reach for pretzels. He simply munches on a foam brush.

And the guy working on the rear wheel? Wow, he’s getting all emotional about how clean the wheel is. He seems to be sobbing over the shine he has restored to the wheel. Relax, dude. Job well done and all, but compose yourself.

Those Pure Victory Polishes cats take their jobs seriously.
