The VRA Party at Sturgis is August 8 up at the Spearfish Canyon lodge. Excellent site.
Or is it?
Have you been to a VRA Party at Sturgis before? If the one(s) you attended were at the lodge, was it a good venue? Do you want Victory at Sturgis pins, patches or T-shirts? Ketchup or mustard? Shaken or stirred?
So many questions – and more await you if you will take the 2007 Sturgis Survey. The Victory gang wants to learn your views on what goes on at the Sturgis party and what types of commemorative merchandise you think should be available from Victory at the big rally.
You only get one shot at the survey, so answer judiciously. To complete the survey, click this link: 2007 Sturgis Survey
EXCELLENT DREW’S RIDE TURNOUT On May 6, the folks at Ferrara’s Victory in Melbourne, Florida, offered the dealership as the starting point for a poker run to help support Drew Humphries’ bike rejuvenation. Drew had an unscheduled meeting with some wildlife and his Touring Cruiser suffered a few injuries (as did Drew, who seems to be recovering steadily).
Victory Riders, as organized instantly through the VMC, raised an impressive amount of money to help with the bike’s rebirth, and the fundraising included the very well-attended poker run in early May.
Along with the poker run, Victory Riders/VMC members organized a raffle that included a raft of great prizes that all contributors were eligible to win.
Thanks to Marty Piatkowski, we’ve got photos from the poker run that we’ll post in the next couple days – just as soon as we can clean up the NSFW photo of Victory tech master Kevin Cross (KevinX) showing the photographer that Victory is No. 1!
Later this summer we’ll also be looking for Daytona International Speedway photos of Jim Underwood (LobsterHunter), who we believe won the drawing for tickets for the Pepsi 400 NASCAR race. Word on the street is that Jim’s a big Jeff Gordon fan. Go figure.
GOOD NEWS FROM OMAHA The report from Omaha is that Bill Konsel, a Victory-riding good guy who is fighting off cancer, has resumed riding his beloved Touring Cruiser. Bill reports the news is good on the medical front, but that he can’t quite be declared cancer-free.
It’s going to be a great day when we can announce that both Bill – a former volunteer Victory Ride Coordinator who did an outstanding job organizing rides – and Vegas-riding Dr. Sam Hassenbusch in Houston are both cancer-free.
