He’s know as “Roadkill” and he’s also known as the World’s Highest Mileage Victory Rider.
Unfortunately, by the time you read this, he very well might have passed his next key milestone, but we’ll report it anyway: As of April 20, 2008, Roadkill (aka Tim Werder) was reporting 197,328 on his V92C.
The trouble with Roadkill is that when he approaches a monster milestone like the 200,000-mile mark, you half-expect he’ll keep riding until he hits the mark rather than stopping for, say, sleep, meals, etc.
If memory serves, when he was on the brink of becoming the first Victory Rider to ever roll past the 100,000-mile mark on his Victory, he planned a celebratory Sunday ride with some friends. Well, he had a new stereo on the bike he wanted to check out, so he went for a spin before they arrived.
For Roadkill, a “spin” – any time of year – could wear out a set of tires and numerous three oil changes. (Amsoil, no doubt!) So while he was on his stereo shake-down ride, he rolled past the 100,000-mile mark. He just couldn’t wait. He still went for the ride with his friends and they still celebrated, but he couldn’t wait for their presence to ride past 100k.
So – tick, tick tick, click, click, click – as you read this, Roadkill might be rolling through a New York forest, watching as the odometer puts him even higher into the Victory Rider stratosphere.
Congrats, Roadkill. Ride on.

Recommended Reading Many of us spend a lot of time on our computers, either working or surfing around to learn what’s new and what’s interesting. here are a few sites worth checking out:
Bums on Bikes • These New Zealand “Bums on Bikes” are having too much fun. But you can live vicariously through their reports as they travel the world on Victory Visions.
[Victory] Vision-Riders • A must-bookmark site for Victory Vision riders.
Victory Ride Gear • Here are some riding jackets with specialized graphics for military personnel and veterans. “No one knows Victory, like those who serve…”
Ghost Army • Not a motorcycle site, but the Ghost Army was a fascinating outfit that played a key role in the allies’ success in WW II. We’re currently reading about them in the book, “Ghost Army of World War II” by Jack Kneece (Pelican Publishing Co., 2001).
If you’ve got an interesting site for Victory Riders to check out, or a good book for a summer read, tell us about it.
