The Victory Blog: ‘Top’s’ Big Bags, Chuck Z. Online, Police Bikes & LobsterPalooza!
Yes, Marty, that is a really clean bike in your photo. But this is all we can show of it.

A tip of the helmet to Michael "TOP" Manning, 1SG, USA (RET.) 69-92, Vietnam 70-71. He got in the spirit of “How big are they?” by responding to the question: The saddlebags on the new Victory Cross Country and Cross Roads are so big:

“They're so big I can put both my German Shepherds in them,” Top wrote. “Just need a trunk to make it a true tourer.”

How big do you think they are? Send your version of “they’re so big that…” to the Victory Mailbag.

Chuck Z. Online
Congrats to Victory Rider Chuck Zwingler of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. He endured a lot of weather adventures on a long trip on his Kingpin this summer, and when he wrote about the journey, the account was posted on the Pittsburgh newspaper’s website.

Chuck wrote:

“I sent this into the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and was fortunate enough to get it published.”

The article is posted HERE.

Congrats, Chuck. Sounds like it was a trip you’ll never forget. Hope you’ve dried out.

Perfect Police Bikes
You might recall reading in Victory Rider magazine about the Kingpin transformed into a prototype police bike by Mike Schultz and the gang at Arizona Victory. Well, Scooter (AZScooter on the VMC) posted a link to a separate Arizona Victory website that shows even the new Victory Cross Country as a police bike. Very cool.

Biketoberfest? No, Lobsterfest
Other than riders stopping by to see the new Victory Cross Country and Victory Cross Roads on display in Ormond Beach, it sounds like there weren’t as many people at Biketoberfest in Daytona last weekend as there were at Lobsterfest.

Wow! What a turn-out on a perfect fall Saturday. Nicely done, Lobster.

There were so many Victory Riders there, it might have to be called “LobsterPalooza!”

There might be tumbleweeds on Main Street next year because everyone will be at Lobsterfest.

Along with the camaraderie and the great food, the bike wash seemed to be a big attraction at Lobsterfest. Some riders were so impressed by the quality of the cleaning, they had their bikes washed several times and pulled up chairs to watch the pros work the suds.

Well done, all you HAVCFers!

Save the Date for Knoxville 2010
Details are yet to emerge, but rally planners we know are urging Victory Riders to save the date for the Knoxville Biker Rally Nationals, set for June 16-19, 2010 (see posted above). We’ll pass along details as they become available.
