The Victory Blog: GR8 PL8s, V2V, Paint Names & Quick Hits Edition
Well played, Vegas-rider Dave Dayton.
By Michael Dapper
VRA Page Webmaster

Thank you, Victory Riders, for responding so strongly to the GR8 PL8 photo feature in the latest Victory Rider magazine.

The feature showed off several custom license plates on Victorys, and we asked you to send us photos of your plates. Man, did you respond!

We’re priming the pump here with a look at the “VIVA” plate that Victory Rider Dave Dayton has on his 2003 Vegas. When you get a look at that plate, you’re inspired to take a look at this classic piece of Elvis/Ann Margrock video.

We are accumulating a nice supply of great plate photos and we’ll begin showing them in the V Rider of the Month section of the VRA page next week.

If you have a custom license plate, send us a photo along with some info about you and your bike.

Send your GR8 PL8 photos to the Victory Mailbag.

NAME THAT PAINT
Do you think you can name one of the new paint colors for Model Year 2010 Victory Visions? If you can name the paint, you could win a $25 gas card from the gang at Vision-Riders.com. Here’s the link to the 2010 Vision Color Contest.

SPEED DEMONS
• Tip of the helmet to a couple Victory Riders who are speed demons. Victory Riders Matt Waring and Gregor Moe headed to the Maxton, N.C., airport for an East Coast Timing Association event and Gregor posted a top speed of 153 mph while Matt’s bike ran a 153 mph. Both bikes were powered by Victory Freedom engines built by the gang at Lloydz Motor Workz.

QUICK HITS
• Don’t forget to check the Victory Challenge Demo Tour schedule to see when the demo fleet will be at a Victory dealer near you. Bring a friend and let them experience Victory performance. They’ll be glad you did.

• There are some news updates about the American Victory Rally, so check out what’s new and make plans to be in Spirit Lake, Iowa, on August 14-15.

• There are also a few schedule tweaks for the VMC National Meet in the Billings, Montana, area. The 2009 event is called the ”Big Sky Roundup”, and the riding in the area will be fantastic.

• If you want to see Victory Riders on the Blackbeard’s Ghost Outer Banks Victory Ride that was held recently on the Carolina Coast, check out THIS VIDEO on YouTube.
