The Victory Blog: ‘Ambassadors’ Enjoy First Rides on Victory Visions
Kyle Petty will break in a Victory Vision Tour, autograph it, then put it up for auction to raise funds for the Victory Junction Gang Camp.

Your Victory dealer – or a leading sales rep for the dealership – might have ridden a Victory Vision this week.

A select group of leading Victory dealers called “Victory Ambassadors” attended a day-plus of informative seminars and enjoyed a spirited 50-mile-plus ride on the Victory Vision on Wednesday night and Thursday. They represented Victory dealerships that met criteria to win the opportunity for early sales training and rides on the all-new luxury-touring bike.

Their ride in the western suburbs of Minneapolis started with a run up the freeway, then ran on county roads that offered a full mix of riding speeds. The ride lasted over an hour and gave the dealers the opportunity to experience the bikes’ power, smooth ride, comfortable ergonomics and large selection of electronic features.

A complete list of the dealerships represented at the Ambassador event will be posted in the near future. If your dealer was one who enjoyed this early Victory Vision riding experience, ask him or her to tell you all about these extraordinary bikes.

RIDE KYLE’S BIKE
Kyle Petty will be riding a Victory Vision Tour on his annual Kyle Petty Charity Ride, and after he completes his run down the East Coast, you could acquire his bike through a special charity auction.

Details of the auction process will be announced July 11, after which you’ll be able to bid online for the bike, which will be autographed by Kyle. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Victory Junction Gang Camp for children with chronic illnesses.

Watch the Victory website for details about the auction site’s launch on July 11. The Kyle Petty Charity Ride runs from July 14-20, starting in Bar Harbor, Maine, and ending in Hollywood, Florida.

AVR A MONTH AWAY
The American Victory Rally in Spirit Lake, Iowa, is only about a month away. Having just been in Spirit Lake for the Victory Vision Press Launch, we can report that the area is in great shape and ready for a large influx of Victory Riders.

On factory tours in the Victory final assembly plant, you’ll see new housing for the rolling dyno on which every completed bike is run to confirm its performance. The walls of the new dyno structure are white with black Victory graphics, and there’s bright new lighting. It will give visitors their best look ever at the bikes on the dyno – including Victory Visions.

During the rally, Bak Victory of Sioux City, Iowa, will operate a Victory Store on the greenspace in Arnolds Park. They’ll be selling merchandise and will offer some service and maintenance work.

The gang from Victory Polishes is also scheduled to be there. They’ll hot-foot it to Iowa after attending the Victory National Sales Meeting. Larry Sr. and Larry Jr. of Victory Polishes are the pros who detail the Victory bikes for high-profile events such as major rallies, press launches, dealer meetings and so forth. When they detail bikes, the white glove test turns up no dirt. They’ll be offering their Victory Polishes – a complete line of premium bike cleaning products – at the AVR and at Sturgis shortly thereafter. (At Sturgis, they’ll set up their display next to the new Victory display in the Top 50 Rally Park between Sturgis and Rapid City.)

Maybe we’re reaching here, but we’re crossing our fingers in hopes of seeing Bill Konsel, the long-time volunteer Victory Ride Coordinator from Omaha, at the AVR. We have been hearing continued good news about Bill’s health, and we’re delighted. It’s natural to associate Bill with the AVR because he always used to help coordinate the night-before party in Omaha for Western riders headed to Spirit Lake. And he always chose a great collection of scenic backroads for the riders to take from Omaha to the rally. We would be thrilled to see Bill in Spirit Lake again this year.

HOLIDAY WEEK GAS NOTE
Among the pre-ride checks you’ll want to make as you ride during the holiday week is to ensure you have enough gas. Plus, be sure you have enough gas to heroically fetch fuel if one of your co-riders runs out.

For example, let’s just say, oh, Victory Rider “Ross” runs out of gas. [Not surprising, really.] So his friend “Ed” volunteers to dash down the road for a can of gas. Great. What a good friend.

Except Ed doesn’t have enough gas to reach the station, leaving the group with two stranded bikes and double-trouble.

So keep an eye on your fuel while enjoying your holiday week riding – especially if you’re riding with Ross or Ed.

RIDE SAFE
Enjoy your riding, enjoy your freedom to wear whatever you want when you ride. But consider making safety a priority. Sure, you want to be comfortable, you want to look good, look cool, but you also want to live to ride another day.

Consider stepping up your protective gear even if you end up getting sweaty or end up with helmet hair.

Have fun. Ride safe.
