Terrible flooding is ravaging much of the State of Iowa, but the Spirit Lake area – home to the Victory Final Assembly plant – has not been victimized by the high waters.
“We have been good in regards to the flooding,” reported Ed Heffernan, a Victory Rider and Director of Operations at the Spirit Lake plant. “Most of the damage has been east of I-35 and south of Spirit Lake. We are safe, dry and prepping to make the industry’s best Model Year ‘09 bikes.”
That means plans are also proceeding for the American Victory Rally in August.
Show Your Colors If your Victory riding group has a logo on a patch, cap, T-Shirt or any other item, bring that item to Spirit Lake during the AVR. There is an impressive collection of Victory groups’ logos in the front lobby of the plant. You Can Help To learn about ways you can contribute to the Iowa flood relief effort and the extensive clean-up that awaits once the water goes down, check out these websites: • The American Red Cross would welcome your support of its relief efforts. Look for donation information at the bottom of the article about the Red Cross flood relief work.
• The Humane Society of the United States is helping to rescue and care for pets who have been lost or abandoned during the storms and flooding, and the Society would also welcome your support.
Why No Hoot? Originally, Victory was scheduled to offer demo rides at this year’s Honda Hoot in Knoxville, Tennessee, but no such rides were offered. Why?
Because this was the 15th anniversary of the Hoot and Honda chose to have only Honda products available for demo rides.
If you want to enjoy a Victory Demo Ride, check out the Events Page to learn which rallies and Victory Challenge Demo Tour events will include rides.
If you go to the Events page and feel you’re not seeing many listings, scroll to the bottom of the page where you find “SEE ALL EVENTS” and click on “GO.”
