That’s right, Sir Winston Churchill – the guy who virtually invented the famous V for Victory hand sign we all use on the road – worried about inaction.
As do we here at Victory Blog HQ. The result of inaction – of Victory Riders not voting for the most scenic riding states – gives us this final list of scenic riding spots:
1. (tie) Colorado and Washington State
3. Michigan Avenue, Lower Level, Chicago, Illinois
4. Gary, Indiana, municipal landfill
5. All other states and provinces that received no votes due to the inaction of Victory Riders
That’s the trouble with inaction: It sometimes leads to unpleasant results. A visitor to Washington and The Mountain Man from Colorado weighed in with their votes, but the rest of you remained silent. As a result of this inaction, the Blog staff decided to insert two rather unscenic destinations on the list ahead of your home states.
Coastal California? Wooded Michigan? Rolling Tennessee? Tropical Florida? Full-Bloom Texas Hill Country?
Never received any votes for these destinations, so the Lower Level of Michigan Avenue (home to the legendary Billy Goat Tavern) makes the list instead.
MORE VICTORY VISION DEMO RIDES
The final set of Victory Vision demo ride events for this calendar year have been announced. Full details about these ride events are available in the VRA News.
The demo ride dates and sites are:
• September 22-23, Snoqualmie, WA, Salish Lodge
• September 29-30, Pleasanton, CA, CarrAmerica Conference Center
• October 18-21, Daytona Beach, FL, Victory Demo Ride site at Daytona Int’l. Speedway
• October 27-28, Phoenix, AZ, U. of Phoenix Stadium (site of the Int’l. Motorcycle Show)
• November 3-4, Houston, TX, Reliant Center (IMS site)
• December 8-9, Long Beach, CA, Long Beach Convention Center (IMS site)
You can register in advance for rides at all these locations except Daytona’s Biketoberfest, where demos will be on a first-come basis with same-day sign-up only.

‘IT’S A VICTORY WHAT?’
You see the name Victory used for numerous products, including candy cigarettes (yes, they still make candy cigarettes!) and beer.
What else do you see with “Victory” in its name? An auto repair shop? A cafe? Adhesive? A church?
Plug “Victory” into Google and you get loads of things, including a record company, a refrigeration company and (cue the heavenly chorus) the Victory Brewing Company.
A tip of the helmet to those of you in the East who have visited the brewery, where tours are available on Fridays and Saturdays at 4 p.m. The Victory Brewing Company is located in the Downingtown Tech Center (420 Acorn Lane) in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. There have been many times we would have loved having a VersaWinch, including the time we tried to hoist a 2-person personal watercraft from a lawn up onto a trailer with a no-tilt bed (never got it loaded).
