The 2009 Sturgis Rally was hotter on Tuesday and Wednesday than the tailpipe of a bike that made a cannonball run from North Carolina to Lazelle Street, and there was a growing number of Victory Riders on the scene, including:

Brett Gardner of Espanola, New Mexico. He was in Sturgis on his 2008 Victory Vision Tour, which he purchased in March from Mike Rose at Rosedale Motorsports in Albuquerque. Brett has about 4,400 miles on the bike so far and is loving it. He really enjoyed the chance to ride to Sturgis to stretch his riding legs. He commutes on the bike to work – about 2 miles each way – but sometimes happens to take a long way home to roll up some extra miles. The Victory Vision has become his primary mode of transportation, so you can bet it will have several times its current mileage a year from now.

Jerry Godfrey and his brother Mike Godfrey, both of Utah. Jerry rides a 2005 Kingpin, while his brother rides a Brand X bike but gets tons of attention because he is wearing a helmet with Impala antlers and a long mane down the back.

Bruce and Lesley Milton of Farmington, New Mexico. They stopped by the Victory Demo Site to collect their Victory at Sturgis Pins and to get entered in the prize drawing because they had completed their Victory Sturgis Passports. Bruce rides a 2006 Vegas and Leslye rides a 2005 Kingpin. They also have a 2004 Touring Cruiser at home. What a great situation: More Victorys in your personal fleet than people to ride them! The Miltons are now entered in a Victory Sturgis Passport drawing where the prizes include the opportunity to be featured in Victory Rider magazine.

The first of the major Victory 10th Anniversary Celebrations is the VRA Party Sturgis on Friday, August 8, from noon to 2 at the Spearfish Canyon Lodge.

AVR Note
Plans proceed apace for the American Victory Rally (AVR) on August 15-16 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Check out the link for details and to register for the rally.

Larry Meservey, Sr., of Pure Victory Polishes (PVP) noted that the AVR will be the only place where Victory Riders will be able to purchase limited edition, numbered PVP Anniversary Gift Packs. These are special packages of travel-sized containers of the most popular PVP products.

And remember, any time you have a Victory cleaning or detailing question, drop a line to “Dear Larry” in care of the Victory Mailbag.
