Results

Racing action returned to the PowerSports Snowmobile National Tour and to Canterbury Downs in Shakopee, MN with rounds two and three of the series. This was double header event for the Pros.

In Friday’s race action at Canterbury Downs, qualifying and the final took place in the Pro Super Stock class (first of two rounds). Qualifying #1 for the final was #68 Tucker Hibbert returning to Canterbury after a four year absence finishing 3rd, 1st and 2nd. Katejun Coonishish (#101 Warnert Racing/Ski-Doo) qualified 2nd with TJ Gulla (#44 Hentges Racing/Pirtek/Polaris) qualifying third.

Tucker Hibbert (#68 Monster Energy/Arctic Cat) went on to win the Pro Super Stock Race #1. Grabbing the holeshot Hibbert led flag to flag. Finishing in second was DJ Eckstrom (#25 AMSOIL, Red Bull, US Air Force, Polaris) and rounding out the podium was Ryan Simons (#67 Arctic Cat/VForce Reeds).

Pro Super Stock qualifying continued with round three qualifying (race 2 of the weekend). Tucker Hibbert again took top honors going to the final. Qualifying second was #837 Ross Martin (DuPont/Jack Links/Judnick Motorsports/Polaris) and qualifying third was #3 Shaun Crapo (AMSOIL/Red Bull/US Air Force/Polaris). At the start of the final, Tucker Hibbert got a great launch and immediately took the lead with Ross Martin in hot pursuit with Katejun Coonishish and Levi LaVallee not far behind. By lap five TJ Gulla had moved up to third with Levi LaVallee in fifth. LaVallee moved into fourth by lap 7. At the end it was Hibbert, Ross Martin, TJ Gulla & Levi LaVallee.

Pro Open Round two qualifying and final also take place Saturday with Round three of Pro Open on Sunday. In race one #837 Ross Martin qualified first with a 2nd, 1st and 1st in his three rounds. #44 TJ Gulla qualified second finishing 1st, 1st and 3rd in his qualifying and #25 DJ Eckstrom qualified third finishing 3rd, 1st and 4th in qualifying. On the start Hibbert again got a great start with Gulla and Martin close behind. On lap one Gulla passed Hibbert for the lead. Gulla held off a persistent Hibbert until lap nine when Hibbert got by him dropping Gulla to 2nd and Martin sat in third. At the checkered flag it was Hibbert, Gulla, Ross Martin, and DJ Eckstrom. However, Hibbert was disqualified for jumping in a yellow zone giving TJ Gulla the win, Ross Martin 2nd and DJ Eckstrom rounding out the podium in third giving Polaris the sweep in Pro Open 1.

In the second Pro Open event of the weekend, #837 Ross Martin again qualified first for the final with a 1st, 1st and 1st. #44 TJ Gulla qualified second with a 2nd, 2nd and 1st and #67 Ryan Simons qualified third with his 4th, 1st and 1st. This time when the green flag went up, Ross Martin got the holeshot and took the lead with Tucker Hibbert in 2nd and TJ Gulla in third. By lap three Gulla had worked his way around Hibbert moving into second and Hibbert back to third. This order remained the same the rest of the 16 lap final. At the checkered it was Ross Martin taking the win, TJ Gulla finishing in 2nd and Tucker Hibbert in 3rd. However, in post race tech, Tucker Hibbert was disqualified for an equipment violation and third place went to #7c Blair Morgan.

In Semi-Pro Open Polaris swept the podium with Chris Kafka (#991 Z1R Helmets/Hentges Racing/Polaris taking the checkered fag in first, Andrew Johnstad (#255 Yellow book/Avalanche Racing/Polaris) nabbing 2nd and Bobby LePage (#244 Pirtek/Hentges Racing/Polaris) finishing third to round out the Polaris podium.

Abrahamson worked hard to catch up to the pack and did move up to 4th by the checkered flag. At the checkered it was #417 Sarah McQuestion, #55 Angela Vacchino, #160 Carly Davis and #87 Kylie Abrahamson in 4th.
