Victory riders from across North America had a great time at Daytona Bike Week in early March. They came, they saw, they rode – and they partied right inside Daytona International Speedway.
And they got another new year of riding off to a great start.
Victory riders visited the Victory display on Beach Street and were among the thousands who enjoyed Victory demo rides. Riders put all the 2006 models – including the must-ride Vegas Jackpot – through their paces on the 8-mile demo route at the edge of Daytona Beach.
On Friday, March 10, Victory riders rode into the infield of the legendary Speedway and met in the NEXTEL Fanzone for the annual VRA Daytona Bike Week Party.
As Victory riders relaxed and awaited the start of the party, one Victory owner rode his bike right into the party zone: Master custom bike builder and Victory styling consultant Arlen Ness. He was astride a radical new Victory custom chopper, and when he rode around the corner and into view, the VRA members rose to their feet, applauding.
Arlen and his son (and fellow Victory styling consultant) Cory Ness posed for dozens of photos, signed autographs and talked bikes with the delighted VRA members.
The party included a great meal, door prizes, a brief update on Victory from Mark Blackwell, Vice President Victory Motorcycles and International Operations. Plus, there was a silent auction of items such as a custom-painted Vegas gas tank autographed by the Nesses. All proceeds from the silent auction went to the Victory Junction Gang Camp for children with chronic illnesses. The camp was founded by NASCAR racer and avid Victory rider Kyle Petty and his wife Pattie in memory of their late son Adam.
The ESCAPE Online and Victory Rider editorial team shot hundreds of images of Victory riders, their bikes and the sights of Bike Week. Look for plenty of photo galleries on ESCAPE Online and on the VRA Page inside the Victory website, as well as in Victory Rider magazine.
