Rich Markheim, a recently retired businessman from Winter Garden, Florida, purchased his RANGER XP from Kissimmee Motorsports. He is mightily impressed by its performance.
“Well, I always thought there was a better way to get back to the back country other than the traditional means of hiking in, riding a horse or a rough ride on someone's beat-up ATV. Polaris certainly had the answer with the RANGER XP!” Rich said.
“I purchased a RANGER XP this past summer and had it customized for the mountainous rigors of elk and mule deer hunting, as well as my personal needs for outdoor recreation.”
When he says he customized it, he means it!
“I installed a Warn 4.0 winch system, windshield, PIAA light systems, Lock ‘n’ Ride gun scabbard, a custom 5-gallon gas can holder, front and rear bumpers and brush guards and extensions, nerf bars, headlight guards and an under-dash heat and dust shield,” he said. “I also added a full set of Bounty Hunter tires and brushed aluminum 14" rims.
“To complete the custom-look package, I added products manufactured by Family Traditions Design: a collapsible front rack, aluminum diamond plate roof with rack, three-piece rear window, interior overhead console, mirrors, and a thicker steering wheel cover.”
With his RANGER XP ideally customized and personalized, Rich headed for the mountains, where the vehicle performed beautifully.
“The conditions were rough – mud-slick and we had every imaginable variation of weather conditions the Colorado Rocky Mountains could throw out in a week’s time,” he said. “From dust to snow, loose rock trails to mud – the RANGER handled it all!”
