By day, Casey Richardson is a police officer in Montana. His passion, though, are his “other” careers, one as an outfitter at his Lost River Camps in northern Saskatchewan and another as a video facilitator for numerous outdoors shows through his Gone Wild Outdoors company.
Casey lives in Huson, Montana, but spends lots of time up in Saskatchewan, where he runs his outfitting and video production businesses.

Casey purchased a Polaris Professional Series UTV 500 – a commercial-grade RANGER – that, because of its yellow color and squared-off shape, has been nicknamed “Sponge Bob.” He purchased the vehicle from Kurt's Polaris in Missoula, Montana. He is currently using a RANGER 700 owned by his business partner and is about to purchase a 700 for himself.
He equipped the vehicles with “custom tops, a roll cage with drop-down window on the 700, custom doors, tracks for the 500, custom bumpers and special-built tire chains.”
“The RANGER is the workhorse of workhorses,” Casey said. “When you talk 4-wheel-drive UTVs, all others are just playing second fiddle.”
The RANGERs used at Lost River Camps get plenty of work, and they always come through.
“As an outfitter I take approximately 100-plus people to the field each year,” Casey said. “I believe we ‘push’ the RANGERs to the limit, and they never seem to let us down!”
Why does he plan to purchase a 700 RANGER?
“After my hunting partner bought a new 700 and I drove it, I ‘had to have one’ and got excited.”
Because he spends so much time outdoors and demands the finest equipment, Casey is on the advisory councils for several brands of outdoor gear.
“I am currently a field staff member or involved with the outfitter program with several outdoor gear companies, including Mad Dog Gear/Stearns, Ameristep Blinds, Schrade/Old Timer Knives, Hoyt USA, Nikon and Cabelas, and I work with several different TV shows with my outfitting business. Some of the shows I have worked with are Archer's Choice, The Choice, Limsaver's Outdoors, The World of Hunting, Double Bull Outdoors, Best of the West and Primos Truth.”
