The future of Polaris ATV racing got even brighter this week when Polaris and Doug Eichner, a Polaris factory racer and pro ATV racing legend, agreed to an extension Eichner’s racing commitment with the company. Eichner is now under contract to race the Polaris Outlaw in WORCS and other selected race circuits through the 2009 race season.
Polaris ATV Racing Manager Eric Nault said the company is excited that Polaris and Eichner have agreed to extend their racing relationship.
“Doug brought us our first professional level win last year and delivered a total of eight professional victories during the 2007 season,” Nault said. “He continues to be at the front of the pack just about every weekend on Polaris Outlaws.”
Eichner, who finished second overall in the 2007 WORCS series, has been highly successful on the racing Outlaws. He started the 2007 season successfully with the Outlaw 525 IRS and continued his winning ways aboard the Outlaw 525 S, which was introduced mid-season.
Due to a change in racing requirements on the WORCS circuit, Eichner will soon campaign the Outlaw 450 MXR, and will race the Outlaw 525 S at select ITP Quadcross events.
An extremely skilled and savvy racer, Eichner is even excelling on Polaris side by side vehicles. He is the current points leader in the WORCS SxS class, where he has consistently won or finished near the front in his Polaris RANGER RZR.
“It has been very exciting to work with Polaris, which is focused on becoming a leader in the sport and industry and has the right machines to do just that,” Eichner said. “Every win has been memorable aboard the Polaris Outlaws and RANGER RZR.
