Polaris ATV Racers Finish Strong in GNCC Racing at Loretta Lynn’s
William Yokley
Polaris ATV racers ran strong April 18-19 in Round 5 of Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) racing at Loretta Lynn’s in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Along with their strong finishes at the event, the Polaris racers put themselves in strong positions to challenge for the class points leads just past the season’s midway point.

The Sportsman 850 XP with power steering continues to show it’s a top contender in cross-country racing. Rath Racing racer Frank Batista of Riverdale, California, took second in the 4x4 Open class on his Sportsman 850 XP with power steering and is currently fifth in class points. Teammate Daryl Rath finished sixth at Loretta Lynn’s and is third in points.

“Rath Racing continues to have great success with the Sportsman 850 XP,” said Eric Nault, Polaris Race Team Manager. “Daryl Rath and the team are showing the race world this quad’s potential.”

Fellow Polaris racer John Gallagher took second in the Super Senior (50+) class aboard the Outlaw 450. Gallagher sits third overall in the standings, one point out of second. Gallagher has finished in the top four at every event and is poised for his first win of the season.

In the 4x4 Limited class, Cody Anderson of Waconia, Minnesota, finished fifth, putting him fourth in class points after five events. Dustin Fulk, who has competed in three of the five GNCC races this season, is 10th in points.

Polaris racer William Yokley of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, took seventh in the XC1 Pro class on his Outlaw 450MXR. He is currently 11th in class points.

“Every race this team is improving their results,” Nault said. “Yokley has been working hard at dialing this new product in. I expect to see better results each race from him and the Outlaw 450MXR.”

In XC2 Pro-Am, Kevin Yoho of Hopedale, Ohio, finished fifth at Loretta Lynn’s, while Jeremy Rice of Fombell, Pennsylvania, was ninth. In the points standings, Rice is in 10th and Yoho is in 14th, one place ahead of fellow Polaris racer Joey Margueria.

In the 30+ C class, Nicholas Luton is third in points, just two points out of second despite the fact he has raced in only four of five races this season and at Loretta Lynn’s, he came in 10th.

The next GNCC race is Weekend Warrior Titan, May 2-3, in Lafayette, Tennessee.
