Outlaw Racer Landon Hurst Earns a Podium Position in Tough Pismo Enduro
Landon Hurst
Landon Hurst piloted his Outlaw 450MXR to a second-place Pro finish at the famous Pismo Beach Race at Oceano Dunes in Pismo Beach, California, on October 12.

The impressive podium finish is a testament to the strength of Hurst and the durability of the Outlaw. In endurance racing in the sand, the terrain gets rougher and rougher and more whooped-out during the race, putting both the rider and the machine through a work out during what was a 2-hour race at Pismo.

Hurst pulled the holeshot on his 2008 Outlaw 450MXR, and with a roost of sand, he was gone.

"My Outlaw was so strong in the rough sections, the FOX suspension was dialed, and my B&B Motor pulled hard through the power-robbing sand," Hurst said.

He continued his flawless ride until lap four, when he had to pit for fuel.

"I knew I had to stop for fuel and didn't want to take the chance of running dry. It was tough to watch my lead evaporate while I was pitted."

Refueled, Hurst jumped at the opportunity to gain the lead while the leader was fueling. Hurst led until the final fuel stop, when he swap spots with the leader and finished a strong second.
