Round 8 of GNCC racing was held June 6-7 in Millfield, Ohio. This was the eighth of 13 events on the 2009 schedule. There is one event remaining before the circuit takes its summer break before wrapping up the season with four final races in September and October.
Polaris Racing highlights from Millfield included:
• In 4x4 Open, Daryl Rath of Hutchinson, Minnesota, finished eighth, but he remained second in class points.
Frank Batista of Riverdale, California, was second, which put him fifth in points, and Brad Cheyney of Massilon, Ohio, was ninth, putting him 14th in points.
• In 4x4 Lites, Daniel Storm of Martinsburg, West Virginia, finished second, his third straight podium finish. The runner-up finish keeps him third in class points. Ronald McCallum, Jr., of Freehold, New Jersey, is 10th in points.
• In 4x4 Limited, Cody Anderson finished fifth and is fifth in points.
• In Super Seniors (50+), John Gallagher of Aurora, Ohio, finished third. He is second in class points and closed the gap on the points leader, but needs a win to really challenge for the points title.
Round 7, Mountain Ridge The Mountain Ridge race – GNCC Round 7 – was held May 16-17 in Somerset, Pennsylvania. In the Mountain Ridge race, Polaris racers ran strong, and several are poised to take over the points leads in their respective classes. Some Polaris racing highlights included:
• In 4x4 Open, Daryl Rath of Hutchinson, Minnesota, finished third, Brad Cheyney of Massilon, Ohio, was sixth and Frank Batista of Riverdale, California, was seventh.
• In 4x4 Lites, Daniel Storm of Martinsburg, West Virginia, finished third and Ronald McCallum, Jr., of Freehold, New Jersey, was fifth.
• In Super Seniors (50+), John Gallagher of Aurora, Ohio, finished third.
• In Sportsman A/B, Allen Howell of Masontown, Pennsylvania, finished third.
• In XC2 Pro-Am, Jeremy Rice of Fombell, Pennsylvania, finished tenth, and he is currently 12th in class points.
The next GNCC race will be June 27-28 at Snowshoe, West Virginia.
