2006 SNOWMOBILE ADVENTURE TOURS
January 8-12, Salida, Colorado Located 147 miles southwest of Denver, our playground will be the Pike National Forest with a riding elevation of 11,000-/13,000 feet. Explore the remnants of St. Elmo, the ghost town; watch the Big Horn Sheep as they traverse foot trails that would scare the life out of you and me. Explore the Mary Murphy Mine and the old railroad sites. You say where’s the powder? Get 5 feet off the trail and you’ll have more powder than you can handle. Rentals are available; call: 719-530-0651.
January 22-26, Ishpeming, Michigan Located just West of Marquette in the Upper Peninsula of Big Snow Country. They get tons of lake effect snow. Ride three directions of immaculate (usually) groomed trails. Visit the small village of Big Bay, which is where scenes of Anatomy Of A Murder were filmed, lunch at Gwinn and ride the trails of the Hiawatha National Forest. We stay at the same motel each night. How does it get better?
February 5-9, State Of New York: Moira, Lyons Falls, Tupper Lake, Moira Located just below the Canadian border is our starting point for a very adventuresome tour. Discover the Adirondack Mtns. from the seat of your snowmobile. This will be a saddlebag tour, meaning a different motel the second and third nights. All told, about 450 miles in those three days of heavy forest trails and logging roads.
February 9-13, Mattawa, Ontario, Canada Sitting on the border with Quebec on highway 17 is our location for a snowmobile adventure that will blow your mind. Their trail system has been rated in the top three in North America. We’ll have overlooks & we’ll have heavy forest trails. Have your camera ready for those wild animals that are posing along side the trail. Our host motel has all of the amenities you could want and has direct access to the trails. No trailering. Mattawa is only 251 miles from Toronto and 684 miles from Mosinee. This will be a Canadian experience long to be remembered.
February 19-23, Watersmeet, Michigan We start and end this tour at a casino. Bring your rabbit’s foot. This is a saddlebag tour that will take you to the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula with two overnight stops in Houghton. While dining, look across the channel and watch the downhill skiers doing their thing. The breathtaking views of the mighty Lake Superior and the quaint little village of Copper Harbor from high atop Brockway Mountain is definitely a Kodak moment. Each day our mileage will top 125 miles of some very scenic surroundings. This tour is not a mission but rather it is about riding and camaraderie. Things to see are awesome overlooks, the Firesteel Trestles Bridges (3), the Adventure Mine and, naturally, a warming pit stop at the Gay Bar. If you don’t enjoy this tour, check your pulse. This will be a very popular ride.
March 5-9, Big Horn Mtns., Wyoming Just 32 miles west of Sheridan, Wyoming, is the answer to West Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. Ride at an elevation of 8,000-11,000 feet. Animals, scenery, groomed trails and powder. When you add all of the amenities of our host lodge under one roof, it becomes a no-brainer. Ride it once and you’ll want to move here. If you live east of the Big Horns, let’s stop in the Black Hills of South Dakota for a one-day, whirlwind ride at your own expense. Just follow me. I know every inch of those trails.
