Victory Riders Make First Turning Leaf Rally a Great Fall Gathering
By Mark Luz

More than 40 Victory enthusiasts enjoyed the first-ever VRA Northeast Turning Leaf Rally hosted by Zack's V-Twin and the Victory Riders Association. Despite temperatures in the mid-40s and wind-driven rain, Victory owners enjoyed a milestone event: The first official fall rally held to celebrate the vibrant colors of fall, Victory Motorcycles and one of the nation’s leading Victory dealerships.

Victory owners and fellow motorcycle enthusiasts were treated to their first look at the 2006 Victory Vegas Jackpot at Zack’s as well as live music, some of the best barbecue this side of the Mississippi. Plus, Zack's V-Twin offered special accessory discounts and their usual expertise on the 2006 Victory models. Jason Delockery, the Victory District Sales Manager for the area, was also on hand to answer questions regarding the new Vegas Jackpot and to help keep riders informed of the progress at Victory Motorcycles.

As the afternoon went on, little did the riders know that the best was yet to come. At 7 p.m. Zack, Rita and the Victory Riders Association hosted a four-course meal at Coppola's Italian Restaurant in Hyde Park, New York, for all who traveled to the Turning Leaf Rally. Victory Owners from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York and, of course, New Jersey enjoyed three hours of food, friendship and discussion about “The New American Motorcycle.”

As the evening came to a close, more than $1,500.00 in door prizes were awarded to guests holding lucky tickets. The prize list included hooded sweatshirts, Victory leather jackets and gift certificates donated by Zack and Rita. Everyone was a winner, really, as Victory T-Shirts were presented to those without winning tickets.

And as winners retrieved their prizes, the final treat of the evening was brought out: two giant cannoli (a traditional Italian pastry filled with sweetened ricotta cheese) filled with mini cannoli for all to enjoy. The cannoli have become a tradition of the famous, annual Zack's V-Twin holiday party.

On Sunday morning, early risers were treated to breakfast by Victory at the local diner before they rode home. A very special thank you to Zack and Rita as well as the entire staff of Zack's V-Twin in Hyde Park, New York, for their hospitality, generosity and years of making Victory owners their top priority. Thanks also to Jason Delockery for taking the time out of his busy schedule to attend a weekend rally and support the VRA, and thanks as well to Victory Motorcycles for contributing to the event.
