On a cool, sunny
Saturday morning about 9:30 a.m. riders started to show up for a run
through the Connecticut and Rhode Island countryside. The morning
started in the low 40's as riders were bundled up, but by 11 a.m., the
temperatures were quite comfortable.
Eight good-looking bikes
showed up and 11 riders were present. Due to a new baby, one rider
couldn't accompany us, but he showed up to see us off and wish a good
ride.
The ride left the dealership and proceeded west on CT
Rte. 138, then turned north on Rte. 169. We had a picturesque, rolling
New England hills and farmland, and the road periodically covered by a
canopy of maple trees. The riders then headed east toward Rhode Island
on Rte. 6. After riding this scenic route, we proceeded south on Rte.
102. Long, rolling hills greeted us on this stretch of the ride. A
quick jaunt on Rte. 3 dropped us off at the Middle of Nowhere Cafe.
The riders stopped for lunch, shared stories and checked out the bikes.
After burgers and fries, the riders headed home. The weather was great,
the ride was awesome, but more importantly we made new friends and got
to see some nicely customized Victory Motorcycles.
We're looking forward to having more rides and getting more riders around the Northeast involved. A good time was had by all.
