Electric cars may take a few years to hit our roads, but you can now get off-road with the Polaris Ranger Electric Vehicle (EV). Let me tell you, they’re cleaner, greener, and almost silent. The new Ranger EV is great for indoor and outdoor use, perfect around horses, never needs fuel and requires very little maintenance.

The Ranger EV is not a converted Golf-Cart, this is a proper 4X4 Ranger off-road work horse that also delivers on the Polaris promise of the best ride on the market.

With 30hp and a 40 km/h top speed, the mid-size Ranger EV has plenty of guts. It operates cleanly and quietly with a 48V AC electric motor – an exclusive for the category. The Alternating Current (AC) is more efficient for low maintenance and extends range giving high performance.

Ranger EV has the longest range in its class with an 11.7kW maximum-power battery pack and three-mode system. The High, Low and Max Range modes provide greater efficiency and overall performance because the rider is able to switch back and forth for maximum power or to achieve up to an 80 km range. Polaris research suggests that 90% of Australian farms do less than 80km per day. Remember that as long as you leave the lights off, when you stop, you’re not using power. That’s lots of extra juice when you consider every time you stop to open gates, feed-out or fix a fence. All you basically have to remember is to plug it in at night.

The Polaris On Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system automatically engages when you need more forward traction. It reverts back to 2WD automatically when AWD is no longer needed. You can easily switch to 1-wheel drive Turf-mode for extremely tight turns and minimal damage to sensitive terrain.

Polaris off-road utility vehicles were the first with Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) and Ranger EV continues that heritage. The long-travel suspension gives a class-leading smooth ride with 20 cm front travel, 23 cm rear travel and 25 cm of ground clearance helps avoid ruts and rocks.

Ranger EV’s higher dump box, with a 226 kg capacity, minimises the temptation for horses to risk injury by removing feed with their hooves. Beyond just mucking out stables, the with EV you can haul and dump feed, shift landscaping materials and much more. Combined with a 567 kg towing capacity and Lock & Ride cargo system, you’ll conquer big jobs in no time.

You’ll also get heavy duty front end protection with inset headlights for minimised damage from rock chips & branches, dedicated vehicle tie down points and certified Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS^).
