Meet the compact RANGER 400

Polaris is the market leader when it comes to product innovation and development, and the new Ranger 400 is no exception.  This capable little workhorse is the undisputed leader of the midsize class and out specs the competition with the same features as the full sized Rangers but in a smaller, more compact package.

The Ranger 400 is the most compact Ranger, with 16 cm off the length and 8 cm off the width and height, making it the ideal size for orchards and vineyards. Despite the smaller size, there is still plenty of room to seat two.

Additional new features include Certified Roll-Over Protection Structure (ROPS), fitted to the cab for extra safety, and the industry exclusive Speedkey system. This is the first of its kind in an ATV and gives the driver control over the top speed by using a different key to limit the speed to 37 km/h.

Don’t be fooled by the Ranger 400’s smaller size, which makes an attractive work partner for farming, doing chores around the property and maintaining acreage. This tough and versatile vehicle still tows more and carries more than competitors with a class leading towing capacity of 567 kg and a payload of 453.6 kg. This includes the exclusive Lock & Ride Cargo System which features a 226.8 kg carrying capacity.

All of this is partnered by a 455cc high output engine and a top speed of 64.4 km. The Ranger 400 boasts 29 hp, the highest horsepower engine in its class, to provide plenty of get-up-and-go for both work and leisure.

Features that have been carried through to the Ranger 400 include On Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and Versatrac. The On-Demand AWD ensures the Ranger 400 can tackle the muddiest and rockiest terrains, while the Versatrac system means you can perform tighter and easier turns without tearing up your grass.

Polaris vehicles were the first with Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) which ensures the legendary smooth Polaris ride. The hard work ethic of the Ranger 400 is complimented by the longest suspension travel in its class and high ground clearance. The fitted IRS fitted provides 22.9cm of rear travel and 25.4cm of ground clearance, while the Macpherson strut front suspension offers 20.3cm of front travel. These features give the clear benefit of less fatigue so you can get more done.
