Fast On the Strip
A while back we butchered the name and the data about one of the quickest straight-line Victory Riders. We have since heard from Dave Koehmstedt, the speedster who races for his own PsychoMotive Racing. Dave reported that:

• He raced on the American Motorcycle Racing Assn. (AMRA) circuit last season and finished fourth in points in two National Classes: "Street Cruiser" and "Street Eliminator."

• Dave currently has the fastest ¼-mile Victory. “It is a 2001 V92C, still street-legal, DOT tire, no wheelie bar. My best time was 10.59 seconds and my top speed was 130.17 mph. I also just tested my prototype supercharger kit on a 92-ci Freedom motor and generated 177 hp and 138 ft-lbs of torque.”

Sounds like ample power for spanking Harleys at these events that remain on the 2009 AMRA schedule: June 27-28 in Bowling Green, KY; July 25-26 in Holly Springs, MS; September 4-6 at the Piedmont Dragway in Greensboro, NC; and September 26-27 back at Bowling Green, KY.

Check out Dave’s PsychoMotive Racing website to see the performance products he has to offer and watch some wheel-popping video.

MBW Speed Run Bike Update
In our previous Victory Blog we told you about Victory Rider Gregor Moe setting some fast times at the Maxton Mile in May. Matt Waring and the gang from MBW Motorcycle Products were also there and were also showing off some impressive Victory power.

“We're the first Victory to break 150 mph in the standing mile and ended up with a best of 153.94819 mph,” Matt reported. “The weather was quite uncooperative and we missed out on at least another two runs. My current pilot, Bradley Everhart, has no less than five world records on his Harley, and since it was currently in a pile of parts, he was more than happy to put his prolific skills to use on our Vic.

“He's extremely happy with the way the Victory ran and feels that getting it dialed in with some minor adjustments (he's 6 inches taller and 40 pounds heavier than our previous pilot, David Torchio) and get his ergonomics dialed in will push the envelope of the bike's most extreme capability.

“Brad feels it has a 160 mph in it but we'd be more than happy with breaking 155.”

We’ll be curious to see if Matt heads back to Bonneville this year, where he ran the Lloydz-powered Victory Vegas 8-Ball Land Speed Racer a couple years ago when the bike was absolutely brand new (and the Salt Flats were soggy and slow).

On a personal note, all the best to Matt as he keeps getting back to speed after undergoing back surgery recently.

Laconia Location Clarified
If you’re heading to Laconia Bike Week, the Victory Demo Ride 18-Wheeler will be there. You just might not find it if you try to Google-map the address we reported in a previous blog.

The Victory rig will, indeed, be at 9 Old Lakeshore Drive, Gilford NH 03249 – as we reported. But when you plug that address into some mapping software, you get zilch. “No such location,” you might be told.

Well, the location exists. Maybe it’s clearer to say the truck will be located at the Airport Plaza in Gilford, right next to the Lloydz mobile dyno. Airport Plaza is on the south side of Laconia Municipal Airport, which is north of the town of Gilford.

GR8 Response to PL8 Request
Victory Riders, you love your custom license plates. We ran a page full of them on the back cover of the latest Victory Rider magazine, and invited you to submit photos of your plates.

You have done so in bunches, and we’re loving it.

We’ll post a new custom plate from a Victory Rider every day (our laptop willing), and we already have a supply to get us well into summer. If you see your name below, we’ve got your plate and it’ll be posted in good time. If you haven’t yet sent a photo of your plate, fire away to victorymailbag@polarisind.com.

Let us know your name and where you’re from. And if you want to include a photo of you with your bike, along with a close-up of the plate, we’ll post your smiling face, too.
