RZR Pilots Holz & Parks Win UTV Class at Terrible’s 250

The RANGER RZR is having another strong racing season, including a victory on April 18 in the Best in the Desert’s (BITD) Terrible’s 250 at Primm [Nevada]. Mark Holz of Lynden, Washington, and Matt Parks of Newport Beach, California, teamed up to win the UTV class, finishing over 8 minutes in front of the second-place team.

Holz and Parks finished the 84-mile loop in 1 hour, 52 minutes, 4.625 seconds, and the runner-up was timed in just over 2 hours.

“The RANGER RZR worked flawlessly all day and we had a blast out there,” said Holz.

Finishing in fifth place was another Polaris RZR race team, Desert Toyz Motorsports, comprised of Mike Cook, Bill Fain and Joe Conchola, all of Peoria, Arizona.

The Jagged X entry finished in ninth place due to issues with a broken exhaust. The Jagged X teammates were Brandon Schueler, Chad Riccio and Mike West, all of whom are from Arizona.

Another RZR team of Arizonans Jerome Vinagro, Craig Hein, Jeff Daugherty and Rito Jauregui finished 10th, and a RZR team of Pierre Perret, Daniel Fontes and Byron Price, all from Merced, California, finished 11th.

Holz and Parks started in the eighth position and moved up to the top three by mile 15, but they got stuck behind a competitor for 12 miles in a particularly narrow section of the course. Once they worked their way past that vehicle, they advanced into second by the second pit stop and went on to win.

The Holz/Parks 1932 team is sponsored by Holz Racing Products, Polaris, Kroyer Racing Engines, and Maxxis Tires.

Jagged X Leads in WORCS Class
Despite its ninth-place finish at Primm, the Jagged X RANGER RZR retains the Best in the Desert UTV points lead through the first two rounds of the season. Holz will continue concentrating on a championship in the WORCS series this year where he currently has the points lead.

The next Best in the Desert race is the Bluewater Gran Prix, May 8-10, in Parker, Arizona. Holz’s next race will be WORCS Round 4 in Milford, California, May 1-3.
